This course has been a BRILLIANT experience! I’ve learned about talk structure, built a bank of stories that I can use to articulate complex ideas and my confidence to present has improved significantly. Alex’s coaching was outstanding; he delivered his sessions with real credibility and the feedback I’ve had since delivering my latest presentation has made the whole process very rewarding.

Introducing the Modules...

Alex Merry, public speaking coach, presentation skills, thought leadership, communication training, leadership development, TED talks, keynote speech

We've been brought up with a rather skewed idea of what a leader should look and sound like; these often extrovert, alpha personalities that seem to have this natural ability to own the room the second they enter it. Yet some of the most influential and inspiring leaders wouldn't describe themselves as naturally gifted communicators. They’re part of a new breed, spearheading a quiet leadership movement that is the perfect antidote to a world full of noise. In this module, we are going to uncover exactly what it takes to lead and inspire the people around you, without needing to full back on your job title.

Build credibility in your expertise without coming across as arrogant
Speak with confidence and conviction
Work with your fight or flight response rather than against it

Done right, presentations can become catalysts for change. The problem is, in a world full of noise and distraction, it has never been harder to capture people’s attention and make them listen to your message. This workshop will show you how to own the room when you present, regardless of the topic.

Communicate complex ideas with clarity
Open and close your presentations with impact
Build your presentations around a proven formula that will captivate your audience

Great communication is about empathy; being finely tuned to both your audience and yourself. In the context of delivering a presentation, it’s about getting people to listen, without judgement so that they are open to the message that you want to share. It requires both self and social awareness, and most importantly of all the ability to adapt your message to the people that you’re speaking to.

Increased self-awareness; specifically about how and why you communicate the way you do
An understanding of how to identify other people's communication styles and
Tailor your presentations accordingly to give yourself the best opportunity to persuade your audience

The human voice is the most powerful instrument in the world, if you know how to play it. The problem is, the way we communicate changes when the pressure is on to make the presentation count. So how do we work with our fight or flight response to reach a state of flow when we present? In this workshop, we are going to explore the fight or flight response and create some strategies to overcome it.

Overcome nerves and stage fright
Radiate confidence when it matters most
Own the room when you are presenting

Storytelling is a critical skill at work. Our ability to tell them effectively could be the difference between landing that promotion, building valuable client relationships
and nailing an important presentation. This workshop will transform the way you tell stories and the decision-making process behind when and why you’re telling them.

Use stories as a tool to persuade and inspire
Master Data Storytelling
Create a story bank of set pieces that can form part of your communication toolkit

World-class public speakers are masters of their environment. It doesn’t matter whether they’re delivering to one person, a small group or the whole company; in person or online. Your environment has as much of an impact on the success of your presentation as the quality of your content or delivery will and this workshop will show you how to perform at your best in any scenario.

Overcome crisis scenarios
Command the room in person and offline
Master the art of engagement

I have got a lot of public speaking experience, but I lacked the fundamentals. I could present, but I didn't understand the 'science' behind it. It's important for me to be able to write and deliver a good presentation or speech professionally, but also personally to inspire others.

Over the course of the programme, I have learned a great deal about myself, both from the weekly feedback and from the course modules. I feel I am in a much stronger place to create presentations with purpose and impact.
For me, the modules covering structure and emotional intelligence were the most valuable because they are not areas that communication coaches focus on, even though they are essential skills for presenters.

Public speaking is one of the most terrifying and rewarding things you can do. Our voice as a medium can have an immeasurable impact in many areas of our lives. If you want to become a better public speaker and are considering this course I couldn't recommended highly enough.

"Alex has had a huge impact on my relationship with public speaking - it’s something that has filled me with fear since childhood and not letting my nerves get the better of me has always been a challenge. Having started at a new company at the end of last year, speaking at events has become a regular occurrence and Alex came highly recommended as the person that could help me prepare for the challenge. Alex has put me through a tailored programme that has transformed my confidence on stage. My delivery has improved significantly and I’m now equipped with core coping mechanisms to help me deal with my nerves in the lead up to events. Most importantly though, I’ve smashed every speaking engagement since!"
